Punit Soni, former Flipkart executive, lavishes praise on Amazon Prime

Flipkart's former top executive Punit Soni today praised global e-commerce giant Amazon for its product Prime.

Praising global e-commerce giant Amazon for its product Prime, that was yesterday launched in India, Flipkart’s former top executive Punit Soni tweeted, “Amazon nailed it with Prime. Nothing like a high value loyalty service to keep your users. Killer feature.” “Killer instinct, incredibly long view, deep product/tech Great products take time and patience. Amazon launched Prime in 2005. 11 years of iteration & sticking to the plan,” Soni said in a series of tweets on Amazon. Soni went on to say that if forced to then, Amazon is one company on which he would bet all his money.

“If I was forced to invest all my money in one company today, it would be Amazon”. “You gotta come to the US market to see Amazon’s dominance. Regardless of India where the jury is out, Amazon is the stock to buy!” he said. Soni was the Chief Product Officer of Flipkart till April this year. Soni is a former Google top executive from the Silicon Valley.

Amazon Prime is a subscription service that has been launched in over 100 cities in India to enable free one-day and two-day deliveries to Amazon customers. Users can sign up for Amazon Prime, starting with a 60-day free trial. If you sign up now, Amazon Prime will cost Rs 499 for a year after the 60 day trial, though the usual price for Amazon Prime in India will be Rs 999 per year.
