‘Obi Worldphone SF1’ priced at Rs 11,999 was launched in India today. Obi Worldphone, the John Sculley co founded company, says the smartphone will be available for consumers from December 7th, exclusively on Gadgets360 in two variants – one with 2GB RAM/16GB storage and another with 3GB RAM/32GB storage. The option of expandable memory is available in both ‘Obi Worldphone SF1’ variants.

Obi Worldphone SF1 packs the Obi Lifespeed, a custom user interface for Android that unifies the software and hardware experience. Obi has integrated the design with high-end technology from a number of tech majors like Qualcomm, Dolby, Sony, Corning, Google, MediaTek, Japan Display Inc. and Samsung to enhance performance.
Obi Worldphone was co-founded by John Sculley along with Obi CEO Neeraj Chauhan and other partners last year. John Sculley is the former head of Apple & Pepsi-Cola and a successful investor in consumer technology companies. Neeraj who has run IT and telecom distribution companies, started working with John Sculley in 2007 during the Sloan Fellowship program at London Business School.
Obi Worldphone says it is the first company to address the market need between designer smartphones at high prices and generic smartphones at low prices.

The smartphone comes with a 5-inch JDI In-Cell IPS full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display offering a pixel density of 443ppi. It also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for screen protection. It runs Android 5.0.2 Lollipop with the Obi Lifespeed UI, and is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939) SoC clocked at 1.5GHz coupled with Adreno 405 GPU.
