Apart from the Nokia 3310, MWC 2017 saw the unveiling of the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 smartphones, and a global release of the Nokia 6. So which one should you buy?
At the Mobile World Congress, HMD Global, on Sunday launched three new Nokia smartphones. The world’s biggest event for smartphone makers, MWC saw the unveiling of the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 smartphones, and a global release of the Nokia 6. Additionally, the company also took out the Nokia 3310 handset from the grave and brought a newly designed phone. However, it still is a feature phone. Among the smartphones, all the new launches by Nokia run the latest Android Nougat OS.
However, the Nokia 6 smartphone was already released in China and became hugely popular. The company claimed that most of the units were sold out withing minutes when they went on sale at JD.com. HMD Global believes the phone is for the next generation of users which means the company is clearly targeting the youth who do not have any experience of using a Nokia device.
Here is a comparison of the price, specifications and features which you should keep in mind while buying one of the smartphones by Nokia when it comes to India:
Operating System: The Nokia 5 smartphone will run the Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. While the Nokia 6 and Nokia 3 devices will run the Android Nougat 7.0.
Display: Nokia 6 has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD full HD display with 1920 x 1080 resolution and a 16:9 ratio. It has a 2.5D sculpted Corning Gorilla Glass display on top, and 403 ppi with over 450 nits brightness. Nokia 5 has a 5.2-inch IPS HD display and has a Corning Gorilla Glass laminated on top of the screen. Nokia 3 has a smaller 5-inch display and a Corning Gorilla Glass laminated IPS LCD display with HD resolution (1280 x 720).
Processor: Nokia 6 runs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. Nokia 5 is also powered by the Snapdragon 430 processor and Adreno 505 graphics. Meanwhile, Nokia 3 has the MediaTek 6737, which is quad-core processor clocked at 1.3Ghz.
Storage: Nokia 6 comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. However, the limited edition Arte Black gets 4GB RAM+ 64 GB storage. The microSD slot support is up to 128GB. Nokia 5 comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage expandable to 128GB. Nokia 3 features 2GB RAM with 16GB storage, expandable up to 128GB.
Camera: Nokia 6 has a rear camera of 16MP with 1 um Pixel size and f/2 aperture, dual tone flash; the front camera is 8MP AF with 1.12 um pixel size and f/2 along with 84 degrees. Nokia 5 has a 13MP rear camera with 1.12um, f/2 aperture, dual tone flash, and there’s an 8MP front shooter with AF, 1.12um and f/2 aperture. Nokia 3, meanwhile, has an 8MP rear camera with 1.12um, f/2 aperture, LED flash, and an 8MP front camera with 1.12um, f/2 aperture and display flash.
The Nokia 6 will be priced at 229 euros (around Rs 16,100). Meanwhile, the Nokia 5 smartphone will come at a price of 189 euros (around Rs 13,400) and the Nokia 3 will be available for a price of 139 euros (around Rs 10,000). There is a new black coloured variant of the Nokia 6, which the company recently launched. It will be priced at 299 euros (around Rs. 21,200). However, Nokia has not revealed when the phones will be launched in India, and how the pricing of the devices in the country will be.
