Two tech billionaires are sparring over Artificial Intelligence (AI). On Tuesday, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk took to Twitter and trashed Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s understanding of AI. He said,”I’ve talked to Mark about this. His understanding of the subject is limited.” The reaction was to the Zuckerberg comment on Artificial Intelligence on Sunday. During a 50-minute Facebook Live Q&As session, he was asked by a viewer, “I watched a recent interview with Elon Musk and his largest fear for the future was AI. What are your thoughts on AI and how it could affect the world?” To this, the Facebook CEO replied,” have pretty strong opinions on this … I think you can build things and the world gets better, and with AI especially, I’m really optimistic. I think people who are naysayers and try to drum up these doomsday scenarios are — I just, I don’t understand it. It’s really negative and in some ways, I think it is pretty irresponsible.”

Twitterati then took to Zuckerberg’s comment and said,”Zuckerberg blasts @elonmusk warnings against artificial intelligence as ‘pretty irresponsible’.” Meanwhile, Musk has previously warned that humans will need to merge with machines or risk becoming irrelevant. And while the two might disagree on the impact AI has, Zuckerberg, like Musk, agrees with the idea of a universal basic income to help cushion any fallout from new technology. Notably, according to a report by TechCrunch, Zuckerberg and Musk have been involved in drama before.
