Dubbed LG K10 2018 and LG K8 2018, the new smartphones will fall in the mid-tier price segment and come with an improved set of specifications, especially the camera.
LG is expected to make its entry into the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 scheduled to officially begin on February 26 in Barcelona. While reports say that LG will launch a newer model of V30 as the flagship, the South Korean giant has launched the newer variants of its K8 and K10 smartphones. Dubbed LG K10 2018 and LG K8 2018, the new smartphones will fall in the mid-tier price segment and come with an improved set of specifications, especially the camera. Both the smartphones are set to be showcased at the company’s MWC event.
The LG K10 2018 is the successor to the LG K10 and comes with a 13-megapixel camera on the back with PDAF, which is similar to the one seen on LG G6. The 8-megapixel selfie camera on the LG K10 2018 will feature Bokeh effect for selfies. The report further adds that there will be three variants of the LG K10 2018 – K10 Alpha, K10, and K10 Plus – all three bearing similar specifications but with some minor enhancements and bumps. The LG K10 2018 Alpha will sport 8-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, while the LG K10 Plus will house the similar camera specifications as the LG K10, along with an option to take wide-angle selfies at 5-megapixel resolution on the front.
Besides, the LG K10 and K10 Alpha will come with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage while the bigger variant K10 Plus will pack 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. All the three smartphone variants will sport a 5.3-inch HD (720 pixels) display, however, the 18:9 aspect ratio design is not known. There will be a 1.5GHz octa-core processor under the hood along with a 3000mAh battery and fingerprint sensor. The colour models for LG K10 2018 will be Terra Gold, Aurora Black, and Moroccan Blue while the LG K10 Plus will only have a Gold and Blue colour option, and the LG K10 Alpha will be available in Black and Gold colour.
Coming to the LG K8 2018, the successor to the LG K8 will have a single model that will bear specifications lower to the LG K10 2018. According to the report, the LG K8 2018 will be powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core SoC coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage with support for expandability. The smartphone will pack a 5-inch HD display. It will be backed by a smaller removable 2500mAh battery inside. The LG K8 2018 will ship with Android 7.1.2 Nougat out-of-the-box.
The LG K10 2018, K10 Plus 2018, K10 Alpha 2018, and K8 2018 are expected to be made available in Asian, European, Middle Eastern, and Latin American markets. However, the price points of the smartphones is not known as of now, and we will have to wait for the launch to get the official pricing and availability details.
