LG G6 gets a price cut yet again. The company has been announcing a series of price cuts on the premium G6 smartphone recently and the new cost is a Rs 14,000 drop from the original MRP of the device. The LG G6, which was launched in February this year, arrived in India priced at Rs 51,990 but now the price has come down to Rs 37,990. The price cut has been announced right before the launch of the Apple iPhone 8 and the India launch of Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The biggest problem LG had faced with the G6, was that it had announced the phone too early. The LG mobile was announced at the Mobile World Congress this year, and it packed a year old processor.
The LG G6 smartphone was launched with dual cameras and the taller 18:9 ratio. However, it could not make an impact. The latest price cut is in line with several others we have seen over the past few months. This is probably the company’s last attempt to lure in buyers just before Apple and Samsung launch their premium smartphones in India. However, with the price range, LG G6 has enough specifications to compete with the popular OnePlus devices. Yet, the bad news for the company will be Xiaomi launching the Mi Mix 2 and Mi Note 3 today in Beijing. Having said that, the Xiaomi Mi smartphones may take some time to arrive in India.
After LG failed to make massive sales of the G6 smartphone, the device had seen its biggest price cut of Rs 10,000 recently. And now with a further discount of Rs 4000, LG is hoping that it may find some new buyers. However, the company has announced a brilliant new flagship device called the LG V30. The phone was launched in Korea recently, and it will expectedly come to other markets including India, soon.
It should be noted that the Rs 37,990 price is available only on the Astro Black and the Mystic White colour models of the LG G6. Meanwhile, the other variant, Ice Platinum is still available at Rs 39,990. These devices are available in both offline and online stores. If you wish to buy the phone, you will have to go to the Amazon India website.
When it comes to the specs, the phone has a 5.7-inch FullVision display with a resolution of 1440×2880 pixels. It has a 4GB RAM and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset. The phone comes in 3 storage variants, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. The LG G6 has a dual camera setup with 13MP lenses. The front camera is 5MP. The mobile is fueled by a 3300mAh battery.
