Lenovo Vibe K5 Note will be available for sale one minute before midnight on August 3 in India. The company has promoted TheaterMax as the USP of the smartphone. The phone comes in two RAM variants. While the 4GB RAM variant comes at a price of Rs 13,499, the 3GB version will cost Rs 11,499. Lenovo’s new offerings are directly pitted against other phones in the same price range such as Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, LeEco Le 2 and Moto G4 plus. Along with the phone, Lenovo has also launched a TheaterMax Bluetooth controller for Rs 999. The company is providing ANT VR headset and controller together at Rs 999, while the GamePad and VR headset will be available for Rs 1,999. According to the company, the TheatreMax provides a theatre-like experience across multiple applications.
The company had first introduced the TheatreMax technology earlier withh the K4 Note phones and later with the Vibe X3. For enjoying TheaterMax, the user will need to buy the ANT-VR headset along with the phone. The phone needs to be inserted between this headset to enjoy the experience. Design-wise, the phone is similar to Vibe K-5 plus with metal unibody. It sports 5.5-inch full HD display and comes with 32 GB storage space which can be expanded upto 128 GB by a microSD card.
Both versions of K-5 Note come with 13 MP rear camera with PDAF and front camera is 8MP. For the new phones, the company provides better battery than the previous K4 Note. The K-5 Note has 3500mAH battery, while the K-4 Note has 3300 mAH. Lenovo has also changed the UI of the phone. It sports Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the pure UI on top. There is also a Secure Zone feature. Lenovo says it provides additional encryption and provides password protection for the personal data stored in the phone. One can also install and run two WhatsApp, Facebook and Gmail account from this device.
