Jio says that the new recharge plans are priced Rs 50 lower than the previous plans and offer 50 percent more data to the customers under the Jio Republic Day 2018 offer.
Reliance Jio has revised its Rs 98 recharge pack to offer more data and validity in a move to further agitate the tariff war against Airtel, Vodafone, Idea Cellular, and BSNL. The Jio Rs 98 recharge plan now offers 2GB of 4G data, unlimited calls – local, national, and roaming, and 100 SMSes per day for a validity of 28 days. In addition, Jio will offer its new plans that will give more data and validities to “offer more value to its customers”. Financialexpress.com has learnt that Reliance Jio’s new recharge packs will become effective from Friday, January 26.
Earlier this month, Reliance Jio reintroduced its recharge packs with revised benefits and offers to continue its Happy New Offer 2018. Jio says that the new recharge plans are priced Rs 50 lower than the previous plans and offer 50 percent more data to the customers. The Jio Rs 98 recharge pack will give 2GB 4G data to the customers for a validity of 28 days. The remaining benefits will be same as before. This plan was earlier offering 2.1GB data (150MB data per day) and calling benefits for a validity of 14 days.
In addition to the Rs 98 recharge pack, Reliance Jio has also rejigged its existing plans to offer 50 percent more data at Rs 50 lower prices from “the competition”. Reliance Jio currently has different plans according to the data consumption needs of the customers. For the customers who are seeking 1GB data per day have the options of the Rs 149, Rs 349, Rs 399, and Rs 449 recharge packs that come with the respective validities of 28 days, 70 days, 84 days, and 91 days. With Jio Republic Day Offer, these recharge packs will come with 50 percent additional data, which means all of them will now offer 1.5GB data per day instead of 1GB.
Furthermore, the recharge packs offering 1.5GB data per day, viz., Rs 198, Rs 398, Rs 448, and Rs. 498 recharge packs, will now offer 50 percent more data, which means that the data cap in all of these packs has now been revised to 2GB per day with the validity periods of 28 days, 70 days, 84 days, and 91 days, respectively. The Jio Rs 299 recharge pack that currently offers 2GB 4G data per day will be discontinued after the new packs become effective on January 26.
The Jio customers will be able to purchase the recharge pack revised under Jio Republic Day Offer starting January 26. However, the customers who have a recharge pack active on their numbers currently, can buy the new packs and activate them later. The customers can activate the packs whenever they want after purchasing them, but that will render the previous recharge pack forfeited, even though it has data and validity still remaining.
