The final version of iOS 10 will made its way onto iPhones and iPads globally on September 12. The beta period for iOS 10 stayed for long which generated a lot of anticipation. Apple announced the latest iOS 10 at the annual developer’s conference WWDC 2016, and it has on offered various new features. The new features are expected to add many new functionalities and increase the productivity of the devices by Apple. The notifications have been redesigned, the Control Center has improved along with better User Interface for making and receiving voice and video calls, and an upgraded Siri are the most notable features in the latest iOS. Here are a few new features coming to the iPhones or iPads with the iOS 10.
1. Lockscreen and the new Unlock method:
The iOS 10 comes with the newly redesigned lock screen. Now, instead of the swipe to unlock the device, the Home button, and the Touch ID will provide a new way to do so. With better-refined lock screen notifications, it now appears more interactive. Direct replies will also be possible now. The 3D Touch functionality has also been improved.
2. Siri updates and third-party developers
Siri has been updated with many new features thanks to the API being opened up to developers. The voice assistant’s functionality has been integrated into third party apps. Text messages, voice calls, and many other things are now possible using Siri.
3. Intelligent keyboard
The iOS 10 will have a smarter keyboard which can give intelligent suggestions, at the same time using Siri as well. Siri will be able to access location and also support multilingual typing and switching keyboard will also not be necessary.
4. New Photos app
The new upgrade photos app can use advanced machine learning technology with the feature of facial recognition. The app will be able to use the technology to sense objects, both living being and non-living objects from photos. The app also will be able to intuitively collect pictures and arrange a layout of ‘Memories’, and also be able to create videos and slideshows along with background music. The videos can also be trimmed down easily.
The Messages app from Apple is one of the most anticipated updates in the iOS 10. Along with various new features like link previews, handwriting support, and a new Digital Touch, there are the new Messages App Store. The App store gives the user access to free and paid iMessage extensions and apps with the ability of integration with full third-party apps and users will even be able to send money through the messages.
Apart from these major changes, there have been improvements in the Control Center, music, stock apps and much more.
