As claimed by Xiaomi, Mi TV 4 is the world’s thinnest LED TV at a thickness of 4.9 mm. It was back in CES 2017 when Xiaomi first unveiled the thin LED TV. With Xiaomi Mi TV 4, the smartphone maker has finally entered the TV industry with a bang. The Xiaomi Mi TV 4 has been launched in India with just one variant, that is the 55-inch variant. And the smartphone has a very lucrative price point which makes it very attractive. At Rs 39,999, the Xiaomi Mi TV 4 will be exclusively sold via Flipkart only. Xiaomi Mi TV 4 gets a humungous 55-inch LED screen with an amazing 4K resolution and HDR support. The 4K resolution translates to 3840×2160 pixels. Xiaomi Mi TV 4 has a 60Hz panel which can be viewed at an angle of 178-degrees. Adding to the list of specifications, the TV gets a 64-bit quad-core Amlogic Cortex-A53 SoC. Along with the processor, the smart TV gets Mali-T830 graphics processor. As for the internal storage, the TV gets 8GB of memory with 2 GB of RAM. With the internals all sorted, the Xiaomi Mi TV 4 gets an Ethernet port, two USB ports, three HDMI 2.0 ports, supports dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Wi-Fi 802.11ac and has Bluetooth 4.0 as well. Xiaomi also boasted that Mi TV 4 supports Dolby+DTS Cinema Audio Quality. On the software front, you get preloaded content worth 500,000+ hours of content with the help of PatchWall UI. This UI offers personalized recommendations and universal search on the Xiaomi Mi TV 4.
With the TV you get an 11-button Mi Remote, which can be used to have control over the set-top box as well as your TV. At Rs 299 extra, you can get the Mi IR cable which offers voice control features.

The installation charges are kept at Rs. 1,099 however, it is free for now. The Xiaomi Mi TV 4 can be bought from Mi.com, Flipkart, and Mi Home stores from February 22.
While speaking to the media at the launch, Xiaomi India MD Manu Jain said, “India is a very important market for us and within a very short time, we have been able to capture significant market share in the smartphone market… TV is a big category after smartphones for Xiaomi and in China, we are the fastest growing TV brand. It is also one of the toughest segments.” Manu Jain added, “Right now we are importing the TVs. We can look at local manufacturing if there is enough volume. It would also be important to find a partner who can make these televisions as maintaining quality is essential.”
