Android rolled out its newest Nougat for LG Nexus mobile phones via an OTA update today. The Nexus users will get this update soon if they have one of the following devices: General Mobile 4G, Nexus Player, Nexus 9, Pixel C, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6. The easiest way to get the updated android OS is to wait for it to show up on your phone, or manually check for the OTA.
Simple steps to download Android 7.0 Nougat via OTA update:
1. Open Settings > About > System updates.
2. Tap Check for updates.
3. Download and Install the update (if it appears) after reading the terms and conditions.
The users can immediately download and install if the update shows up in the system updates. If the update doesn’t show up, you should ideally wait until it does. It is strongly recommended that the users should back up their Android device before attempting for an update. For devices that don’t have the release, the update may install a preview version and they are likely to lose their data.
The exciting new update is likely to bring the new features for mobiles. However, the new update should not be expected to have major changes in the system. The split screen and improved multi-tasking are some of the much-anticipated features which were well overdue for a long time. Meanwhile, LG’s upcoming V20 smart-phone is likely to be the first phone to be launched with an inbuilt Android 7.0 Nougat.
