An unexpected quirk of Google has resulted in Egyptian repairman Saber El-Toony receiving unexpected fame, with his name outranking the search engine’s name on the web.

Anyone typing Google into Google from an Egyptian computer would be directed to a page belonging to El-Toony as the first result.

Search engine optimisation firm Koozai’s Oliver Ewbank was quoted by the BBC, as saying that this has been a ‘happy accident’ for El-Toony, but was a mistake for Google, who must rectify the issue immediately and make sure such an incident does not happen again.

For his part, El-Toony was unaware of his new found fame, apart from a vast increase in phone calls he received.
