Chinese electronic firm Xiaomi on Friday announced the launch of its new flagship Mi Band HRX Edition. The conglomerate has joined forces with Hrithik Roshan’s HRX to come up with this new fitness product which is reportedly an adaption of its Mi Band 2. The fitness device will be up for sale from September 18 on company official website – Mi.com, Mi Home Offline store and various leading e-commerce portals such as Flipkart, Amazon India and Myntra from September 20. Priced at Rs 1,299, the Mi Band HRX Edition is less expensive compared to Mi Band 2. According to a report by India Today, the new fitness band by Xiaomi has an extraordinary battery backup of up to 23 days on a single full charge. It also has an improved tracking algorithm along with splash resistant capability.
The Mi Band HRX Edition uses an OLED display that makes users see more in a single glance. The fitness band is enabled with features such as time, distance covered and calories burnt. According to the company statement, the idle alerts send a gentle buzz when you have been sitting still for too long. These reminders tell you when it’s time for a short walk or a water break. Apart from that the newly announced Xiaomi Mi Band HRX Edition also has features to unlock your phone and receive both call and app alerts as well.
The fitness band comes in black colour and will be available for sale both online and offline. “Indians are becoming more fitness conscious and this category is at an extremely dynamic stage. The Mi Band is a great fit in the category as reflected by the great response received for the Mi Band 2,” Xiaomi Vice President and India Managing Director Manu Jain told PTI.”
“This is not an endorsement deal, it’s a partnership for a new device. Hrithik provided inputs on features can be incorporated to make the product more relevant,” he added further.
