The world’s leading social networking site, Facebook has announced that now social butterflies need not to have a Facebook account to use Facebook Messenger.

As per the speculations, this new step taken by Facebook will give a good competition to another messaging app, WhatsApp, as it also doesn’t ask its user for any social media account for usage, the Daily Star reported.

Interestingly, WhatApp is owned by Facebook and both the messaging app have almost similar features of sending photos, videos, group chats, voice and video calling and stickers.

The new non Facebook option is currently available only in the US and Canada, but soon it is expected to head for other countries including India.
