Coolpad Cool Play 6 launched: Chinese handset maker Coolpad on Sunday launched its newest gaming smartphone ‘Coolpad Cool Play 6’ for the Indian market. Cool Play 6 features 4GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor and boasts 6GB of RAM. Priced at Rs 14,999, the phone comes with an innovative fingerprint sensor. The device boasts 64GB of internal storage and a dual-rear camera unit (13MP + 13MP), along with a 8MP front shooter for selfies. The phone comes with a 4000 mAh, non-removable Li-Po battery with a standby time up to 300 hours, with support for USB Type-C reversible connector and Dual Nano SIM. A press release by the company said that the device will be available exclusively on Amazon.in from September 4, 2017, in two colour variants gold and black.
The release said that with the Coolpad Cool Play 6 smartphone launch, the company is eyeing a bigger pie in the Indian mobile space with plans to achieve 50 per cent growth to extend its share to 6 per cent of the country’s overall market. It also plans to establish Coolpad services centres in India in at least 5 cities over the next 6 months. “India and the US has now become two of the largest markets for Coolpad overseas. We are confident that with R&D capabilities and quality products, we will be able to gain an even larger market share in India and other regions,” James Du, Global CEO, Coolpad Group was quoted as saying in the release.
“It is only because of the quality of our products that today Coolpad smart phones have a 25% market share on Amazon in the sub Rs. 8000 category. With this launch we not only plan to lead the online space but also to make a bigger impact on the offline market in India.” said Syed Tajuddin, CEO, Coolpad India was quoted as saying in the release.
