Apart from the new iPhone X, Apple is also expected to reveal some more information on products like the Apple Watch, Apple TV and more.
Rumours about the famous Apple iPhone will stop and the company itself will unveil the device today at an event. Apple is all set to unveil the new iPhone X and iPhone 8 tonight. The special event will be held in Cupertino, in Apple’s all new ‘spaceship’ campus. Apart from the new iPhone, Apple is also expected to reveal some more products. Finally, there will be a stop to the speculations regarding the name of the new iPhones, whether it is the iPhone X or the iPhone 8 or perhaps both. The event will be held at the Apple Park Campus, in the Steve Jobs Theater. The company CEO will finally reveal the specifications, features and price of the new iPhone. While there is still some hours to go, we might as well stop speculating on these devices and focus on what other things the tech giant may unveil at the launch event. Here is a list of gadgets that Apple may unveil today.
Apple Watch: The company has been working a lot towards preventing any kind of leaks regarding the Apple Watch. As of now, the best guess has been the inclusion of an LTE chip. Apart from that, a recent report had suggested some new features found in iOS 11 software. However, there has been no solid information related to the device till now. Last year, Apple had announced a new version of the Apple Watch and it had only a few minor changes in the device from the first iteration. So, it is likely that the company may want to introduce more features in it. Additionally, Apple had recently bought Beddit, a sleep tracking company, so that may be one of the changes in the Watch. Meanwhile, a Bloomberg report said that we will see more colourful bands, newer software and cellular data on the Apple Watch. If the cellular data feature is enabled, it will be a big change as it will reduce dependency on other Apple devices.
Apple TV: In the year 2015, Tim Cook had said that ‘the future of TV is apps’ when he announced a new Apple TV streaming device. But that year marked the last update on the device. New rumours have indicated 4K and HDR support, but there is no more information of these yet. However, the chances are high that this device will see some major updates. It may also include Siri, a voice activated speaker. With improved live TV and quicker processors, the company really needs to ramp up its game in this area, as it is in the 4th position, even in the US.
The name ‘HomePod’ was first heard at the World Wide Developer’s Conference in June this year. It is soon expected to start shipping. So, there is a chance that we may hear some more features regarding the HomePod today. Here’s what we know so far: there is a high-excursion woofer, A8 chip, seven tweeter array, and fabric-wrapped enclosure. However, apart from the hardware, we are not much sure about what this device can do. With a market already dominated by Google Home and Amazon Echo, it will be interesting to hear what else Apple has to offer in the HomePod.
AirPods: These devices have been available for only a few months. However, Apple had revealed them in 2016’s iPhone 7 launch event. While we may or may not see a new version of this device, one of the reports have suggested that there could actually be one. iOS developer Steve Troughton Smith spotted a GIF that shows a redesigned AirPods case in iOS 11 software. So, there might just be some announcements regarding the device. With an LTE capability, Apple Watch may also find support in these little wireless earphones.
Surprise? The company has a history of saving surprise launches till the end of the event. Even after several leaks and rumours, Apple still has the power to surprise us, like the AirPods launch in 2016. Some hush-hush reports have said that the company could be working on a few other gadgets, like AR glasses and other wearables. There might also be something we just cannot expect, after all, it is the 10 anniversary of the Apple iPhone, which was launched by one of the biggest visionaries of this generation.
