Apple announced the launch of new wireless headphones, “Airpods” on the occasion of the Apple iPhone 7 launch event. The earbuds mark the beginning of a revolutionary change in the world of audio devices. With the old headphones and other wired devices the user owns going down the drain with the Apple iPhone 7 putting the audio jack in the ground, these new wireless headphones seem the way to go. The old wired headset users would now have to use a dongle to connect with their devices and use them.
Users will be able to connect their Airpods to their Apple devices just opening the earbud’s case and tapping on the connect option. However, the users relying on anything less than iOS 10 would not be able to use the earbuds. The Airpods are reported to work only on the iOS 10, watchOS 3 and the macOS Sierra. the pair of earbuds is said to last for 5 hours without the requirement of any charging. Though once put in charge, the process could go on for about 25 hours.
These Airpods depend on the new W1 chip, which is supposed to handle the audio and wireless connections. The Airpods can detect when they are plugged into the user’s ears through the dual accelerometers and optical sensors. Hence, to stop the music, one simply has to remove the earbuds. the earbuds come with inbuilt mics, helping the user to converse over a call and access Siri. The Airpod is priced at $159 and will be made available for sales in late October.
