Apple Inc. will finally phase out its 16 GB storage variant of iPhone. The cheapest iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will come with a storage of 32 GB instead of the 16 GB. As consumers are storing more videos and music than ever, iPhone in a bid to compete with rival smartphone makers whose starter models are already 32 GB. The information was provided by the tech giant at its launch event on September 9 in San Francisco. Apple iPhone’s base-level storage had recieved a lot of flak in the recent past. With the growing number of internet users and a plethora of content available online, more storage options have been the need of the hour, yet more storage means more cost which can be a deterring factor for counsumers.
Even though streaming music and videos have become a norm, especially for iPhone users, more storage is also not redundant, as more and more applications are launched every day. Added to the apps, even photos clicked with better cameras need more space. But these devices will not come cheap. The basic 32GB variant of the iPhone 7 will cost $ 649. The iPhone 7 Plus will start at a huge price of $769. With pre-orders starting this Friday on September 9, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will start shipping from September 16.
