Several app developers are trying to cash in on the popularity of Prisma, a mobile app which converts photos into beautiful artworks. Searching ‘prisma’ in Google Play Store throws up over 50 apps, either named as Prisma or as a combination of a few words — some as misleading as Prisma Photo effects, Prisma Radio etc. The fake Prisma apps have annoyed several first time users of the photo-conversion app. So don’t fall in the trap of the fake, as one user comments on an app named ‘prisma photo filter’: “Don’t waste your time, it is not prism effect”.

To find the original Prisma app, search ‘Prisma labs, Inc’ in the Play Store and click on the authentic link (circled in the following image). The full Android version of Prisma was made available for download by the developers yesterday to cash in on the growing popularity of the photo conversion app. Prisma transforms photos into creative artworks using the styles of legendary artists including Munk and Picasso as well as world famous ornaments and patterns.
