Airtel Rs 98 recharge pack will offer 5GB data to the prepaid customers, as opposed to the 2GB 4G data that is given by Jio for the same price. However, Jio's Rs 98 recharge pack comes with unlimited calls and 100 SMSes for 28 days.
Airtel has introduced a new recharge plan to take on Reliance Jio. A new Airtel recharge pack worth Rs 98 is now available to purchase that offers the prepaid customers with 5GB of data. The validity of the pack is 28 days. With this new tariff plan, the data given by Airtel is nearly 250 percent more than the data offered by Reliance Jio that offers just 2GB 4G data at Rs 98. This new recharge pack costs you just Rs 20 for 1GB of 3G/ 4G data. However, the Airtel Rs 98 recharge pack does not come with any unlimited calling and SMS benefits, which are otherwise available in the Jio Rs 98 recharge pack.
The new Airtel Rs 98 recharge pack, however, available to the customers only in the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh circles. The customers in these circles can go to Airtel’s website or My Airtel app to purchase the tariff. There is no information on whether this recharge pack will be available to other circles.
The Reliance Jio Rs 98 recharge pack, on the other hand, comes with 2GB of 4G data, which is comparatively less than what Airtel is offering for the same price. Having said that, the Jio Rs 98 pack comes with unlimited local, national, and roaming calls along with 100 SMSes per day for the 28 days, which is not benefitted to the Airtel customers at Rs 98.
Airtel recently introduced a new low-validity pack worth Rs 9 that gave customers a benefit of 100MB data, unlimited calls, and 100 SMSes for a single day validity. Jio, on the other hand, offers unlimited calls, 0.15GB 4G data, and 20 SMS for the same validity of 1 day. The Jio tariff also entitles the customers with free access to the apps such as JioMusic, JioTV, and JioCinema among others.
