Tata Motors strike: Union registered

In what may be perceived as a breakthrough in the three week-long strike by over 400 workers at the Tata Motors' Sanand plant, the labour department of the Gujarat on Thursday officially registered the union of striking workers as a labour union.

Given that the formation of the union was a major cause for the dispute between the company and the workers, its registration gives hope for a speedy conclusion. However workers remain adamant on fulfilling their demand for reinstatement of their suspended colleagues.
