Tata, Adani among bidders for Andhra Pradesh airport project

Infrastructure majors GMR, GVK, Adani Ports, Essel Infra, Tata and Airports Authority of India are among a few bidders who have shown interest in developing the international greenfield airport at Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh.

“Almost 82% of land is under possession for the Bhogapuram greenfield airport. When the environmental clearance is completed, it will be submitted to the PCB by the first week of December 2016,” said a statement from the chief minister office. Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu said that the Bhogapuram airport should be one among the top 10 greenfield airports.

Holding a review on the status of the infra projects in the state with senior officials, Naidu said that the airports of Tirupati, Rajamundry, Vishakapatanam, Vijayawada and Kadapa registered a growth rate of 44 % from April to October 2016.
