Swami Vivekananda full audio speech: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday cited Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago address and related it to the 9/11 date. The Prime Minister said, “There was a significant 9/11, 125 years ago too.” The remarks from PM Modi came during an event to mark 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago address. Modi, who hailed the significance of the speech, said that 9/11 of 1893 was about love, harmony and brotherhood. “Swami Vivekananda raised his voice against the social evils that entered our society. Just with a few words, a youngster from India won over the world and showed the world the power of oneness,” PM said. The Prime Minister added, “Swami Vivekananda said that only rituals will not connect an individual to divinity…he said Jan Seva is Prabhu Seva.”
Modi said that Vivekananda supported experimentation and innovation, adding that his government was working according to the ideals shown by him. Vivekananda, the prime minister added, had given the message of love and brotherhood. On the occasion, PM Modi also rebuked the people who litter and asked whether they have the right to say ‘Vande Mataram’.
