We all unlock our smartphones innumerable times in a day, what if you get to earn while doing so? SlideApp, a lock screen app for Android users provides its users with the opportunity to earn rewards every time they unlock their phones. The app allows its users to choose and reads the content and in turn, the user earns redeemable points with every slide.
The content is selected in a way so as to entertain the user. The application was launched in November 2015 and in a bid to incentivize its mobile users and to step-up its operations, on Wednesday, it tied up with Paytm.
In its 7 months of inception, the app has registered 1 million users in India. Based on a ‘read,learn and earn real money’ concept, SlideApp credits rewards points after reading content on the application, the points will then be transferred to your respective Mobiwik/Paytm account and can be further utilised for online shopping and other purposes.
On being asked about its plan after tying up with Paytm, SlideApp said, “It works on a two-fold platform: Our users and their interest + Brands that advertise on our app. By tying up with Paytm, we have opened the reward redemption options even further for our users since a lot of existing users with accounts on Paytm would find it simple as a process to consume content on our app and leverage it well through Paytm wallet. For our brands as well, they in case wish to offer their users rewards through Paytm, we will be able to make that happen and thus in a complete eco-system, benefits flow out to all. The core is ‘seamless’ functionality and ‘joy’ of benefits on our app by way of constant consumption. Being a mobile media platform, innovation at each stage will be necessary and our team has many such plans lined up, the excitement backed by utility never ends on Slide!”
On being asked as to how the point system really works, Nakul Sethi, Co-founder and Digital Head, SlideApp said, “The point system is a reward system in place for users and brands yet again. There is a lot of content that we share with our users daily on the lock screen basis their areas of interest they have signed up for on the app. To make content a habit, ours is a reward based platform. The more content, the user consumes, the more rewards accrue to him which he can use as he deems best given the options on the app. At the same time, it’s an ROI performance based advertising model designed in a manner that lets the advertisers on the app see the performance of their campaigns and lets him optimise through various tools in terms of desired user reaction. For each content placed by an advertiser, a percentage is passed on as a benefit to the user in terms of points.”
