Reliance Jio has halted the pre-booking of Jio Phone through its official website, jio.com. The website is now currently only allowing buyers to register for the 4G feature phone. The firm had kicked off the pre-booking for the Jio Phone on August 24 at 5:30 PM on their website, the website crashed a few hours later and many people were unable to access the website. Reliance has now confirmed that it has suspended the pre-booking for the phone stating ‘We will inform you when the pre-booking resumes’. The firm has not given a reason for the suspension of the pre-booking. The firm has also not made a comment on the duration on the pre-booking of the phone, according to the Deccan Herald.

People who have successfully placed an order for the phone can get updates on their phones by dialling 1800-890-8900. Those who have can view their status in the MyJioapp under the manage voucher section. The JioPhone, which costs Rs 1,500, can be booked for Rs 500 and the buyer will have to pay Rs 1,000 at the time of the delivery. The JioPhone boasts of a 2.4-inch QVGA display, FM radio, torch, headphone jack and a slot for SD cards.
