Taking the data war to the next level, Reliance Jio is joining hands with many smartphone brands to come up with new deals and discounts. Only a few days ago, Jio had announced free mobile data with Xiaomi smartphones and now, it has come up with a similar offer for Comio phones. According to the details available on the website of Comio, Jio offers 20GB additional 4G data on the recharge of Rs 309 or above on Comio phones. This data will be given in the form of 5GB data vouchers which can be used by the customers. An Eligible Subscriber, who, during the subsistence of the Offer, recharges his or her RJIO subscription, by availing the Recharge, will be entitled to additional 5GB 4G data voucher, the website said.
In order to be eligible for this offer, a person must purchase an eligible device and should be an active subscriber of the RJIO connection (existing or new). He or she should also be enrolled in the “Jio Prime” membership plan. The entitlement period of this offer is between August 29th, 2017 and March 31st, 2018. The full list of eligible devices includes Comio C1, Comio S1 and Comio P1. Also, these smartphones must be bought in India on or after August 29th, 2017.
Chinese handset maker Comio is looking to expand its customer base in India. According to a report by PTI, it is looking to sell 1.5 million smartphones and garner revenues of Rs 1,000 crore in the country by March 2018. “This year we are targeting a sales of close to 1.5 million devices by March 2018. In value terms, it would be close to Rs 1,000 crore,” Comio India CEO and Director Sanjay Kumar Kalirona told PTI.
The smartphone maker entered the Indian market in mid-August and is targeting the youth in non-metro areas and smaller cities, with a focus on the mid-segment smartphone category. “Our strength is mid-segment smartphone market. In next three years, we are looking at having close to 12 per cent market share in the mid-segment category. We aim to sell approximately 7-8 million devices in three years,” he added.
