In the ongoing Uttar Pradesh Investor Summit flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, chairman of Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani lauded the incumbent government’s vision to transform Uttar Pradesh to Uttam Pradesh, and said that Reliance Jio is one of the largest investors in the state. “I am happy to announce that Reliance Jio is one of the largest investors in Uttar Pradesh with investments over Rs 20,000 crore,” Mukesh Ambani said adding that Jio will be present in every single village in Uttar Pradesh by the end of 2018.
Apart from announcing investment plans, Mukesh Ambani said that Reliance Jio will create over one lakh new and sustainable livelihood opportunities in the state. Further, Asia’s richest man said that his company Reliance will be a reliable partner for the people and the government of Uttar Pradesh. Mukesh Ambani also announced that Reliance Foundation will play a key role in the government’s Namami Gange Project.
Interestingly, Mukesh Ambani has announced ambitious plans for Reliance Jio in many states including West Bengal in the recently held West Bengal Investor Summit. Speaking at the fourth edition of the two-day Bengal Global Business summit held in Jauary, Mukesh Ambani had said that Jio will connect every single hospital and educational institution in 2 years in West Bengal, adding that the company has invested around Rs 15,000 crore in the state during the last three years. The billionaire businessman had revealed his ambitious plan of making JioPhone available at virtually zero cost in West Bengal.
Notably, the Uttar Pradesh Summit had various top industry captains from Mukesh Ambani, Anand Mahindra, Gautam Adani in attendance, along with various top politicians including Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath. Notably, President Ram Nath Kovind shall also visit the Summit on Day 2.
