Qualcomm has introduced Snapdragon 660 and 630 mobile platforms, designed to improve performance, enhance photography and gaming as well as provide longer battery life in smartphones. The Snapdragon 660’s X12 modem offers 2x faster downlink speeds while it also ushers in the Adreno 512 GPU for the first time in the company’s 600 series platform. Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 is the successor to the Snapdragon 653, while Snapdragon 630 succeeds Snapdragon 625. Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 and 630 use a 14nm FinFET process. They provide 4K video capture and playback capabilities, along with 8GB maximum memory and Vulkan API support.
