PepsiCo has sent a notice to the Board of Control for Cricket in India to withdraw from the Indian Premier League (IPL), according to a report in the Indian Express newspaper.

The company has cited the spot-fixing controversy as the reason behind the title-sponshorship withdrawal.

In its notice to the Indian cricket board, the company has said that the decision was related to issues that have brought the game into ‘disrepute’.

Sources in the IPL and BCCI confirmed to The Indian Express that PepsiCo has decided to cut its ties with IPL. However, the company did not respond to report.
