Nusli Wadia, one of the Board Directors of Tata Sons, has said that allegations that he is acted in concert with Cyrus Mistry, are false and baseless. “Allegations against me for acting in concert with Mistry false and baseless,” said Wadia. “Do not serve the Tata Group in any capacity. Do not require to act in Tata Group’s interests,” he said. He added that any allegations that his conduct caused harm to Tata Group is baseless. “Allegations that my conduct to cause harm to Tata Group is baseless,” he said. However, maintained that he believes that Group Chairman Ratan Tata sought to access company’s info. Wadia’s comment come amid after Cyrus Mistry was removed as the Director of Tata Industries at shareholders’ meet on Monday. Stating that he is the only Independent director that Tata Sons has sought to remove from Tata Steel, Tata Chemicals and Tata Motors, Wadia said: “The reasons for which I am being sought to be removed as director is my independence of mind and action…”
Earlier, Cyrus Mistry had sought the support of company’s shareholders against promoters’ proposal to oust him from the post.

Earlier last week, Mistry’s former employer Tata Sons had alleged that he had misled the selection committee set up in the year 2011 to select the successor to his predecessor Ratan Tata. The group hit out at Cyrus Mistry saying that he had made lofty statements about plans for the Tata Group, but wasn’t able to materialise them once he became the the chairman of the company.
