Mouser Electronics, a global distributor of semiconductors and electronic components, today said it expects to grow by at least 20 to 25 per cent for the next three to five years in India.

“We will be very disappointed if we didn’t continue to grow by at least 20-25 per cent every year for the next three to five years in India,” Mouser Senior Vice President of APAC and EMEA Business Mark Burr-Lonnon told reporters here.

“I am actually expecting such a growth because people begin to know Mouser if we start to engage in countries from the beginning. This results in getting traction,” he added.

Mouser, part of Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway family of companies and a subsidiary of TTI Inc, hopes to become a top brand in India as soon as possible, Lonnon said.

Replying to a query pertaining to investments in India, Lonnon said Mouser will invest in customer service, local marketing and backhand IT and marketing support, which would help the company to drive its business globally.

“What we have done investing here right now is to invest in customer service; invest in local marketing; invest in some backhand IT support, internet support, marketing support which helps us globally to drive our business,” he said.

The company expects to increase the headcount in Bengaluru office from 34 to 85 in coming days, he said.

Talking about the potential of Indian market, Lonnon said the design activity in India will continue to grow because the percentage of design engineers produced in the country is much higher than in countries like North American and Europe.

However, the scenario 20 years back was different as most of the design activity was prevalent in North America and Europe compared with other countries, Lonnon said.

Replying to a query, Lonnon said USP of the company compared to its competitors is to bring latest technology as quickly as possible.

Lonnon also said that ‘Make In India’ slogan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is good for a company like Mouser business wise.

“Make in India is good. We are really excited about what is happening in India which is bring driven from the government level… If we help with the design and TTI, our parent company, picks it up, we are whole time winning,” he said.

Mouser is a worldwide distributor of semiconductors and electronic components for over 600 leading manufacturers.
