Mercedes-Benz India has continued its strong performance in the second quarter, with the company posting 49.1% sales growth during April 2015. India was among the top-performing markets globally during the month.
The company has also established a clear leadership in the high-performance or sports segment, with growth tripling. now, there’s a yawning gap between Mercedes and the No. 2 and 3 players in the segment, Eberhard Kern, MD & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, said. Kern didn’t give out a number, but said it was a three-digit figure. He estimates the overall market for high-performance cars in India to be 300-400 units a year.
