Maruti Suzuki is going to showcase 18 vehicle models at the Auto Expo, to be held in the first half of February. Among the models on display would be a concept electric car, e-Survivor, with which the company intends to solidify its commitment to launch an electric vehicle in India in 2020. “At Auto Expo 2018, it (e-Survivor) symbolises Maruti Suzuki’s commitment to help develop the entire life cycle of EVs in India including local manufacture of components, charging infrastructure and recycling of batteries,” the company said in a statement. The company is also going to unveil a working model of next generation hybrid vehicle technology at the expo. This technology, the company claims, would be more fuel efficient.
The technology is already being used in its hybrid models sold in Japan. “In evolving clean solutions for India, Maruti Suzuki will work on a portfolio of HEV technologies to accelerate electrification of power trains in India. The Suzuki Hybrid system, displayed at the Auto Expo, symbolises a critical part of the clean solution,” said the company. Apart from this, Maruti Suzuki will also unveil the Future-S concept, which will be a new design language for compact vehicles. It will also launch the new Swift at the expo.
