Starting September, Intel employees will get benefit offerings in the maternity, paternity and adoption space from the company. The company on Tuesday announced important changes to its employee benefit programs.
Women employees at the company will have many benefits available to them that can enhance their overall experience, from pre-delivery, post-delivery until return to work. The company will not stope here with the benefits offered, but will also seek feedback from employees and explore further enhancements to the benefit offerings.
Intel has enhanced maternity leave from 84 calendar days to 150 calendar days (5 months), while the paternity leave has been increased from 5 working days to 10 working days.
Women employees returning from maternity will be entitled to work part-time on full pay for up to 1 month (30 calendar days) post their return to work.
The company has also changed its adoption leave policy by entitling 10 working days for male employees and 150 calendar days for women employees.
“Diversity and inclusion are key business imperatives at Intel. We respect, value and celebrate the unique points of view and opportunities that come with diversity in our employees. Our corporate business principles, policies and strategic initiatives are designed to further develop and retain our diverse workforce,” said Kumud Srinivasan, President, Intel India.
“We are committed to support our employees in the workplace and help strengthen the bond between employees and their families. Maternity is an important life-event and through our benefits we want to support our women employees in managing their personal and professional life during this juncture, and making a smooth transition back to work,” said Preethi Madappa, Director – HR, Intel South Asia.
Intel India’s other family-friendly benefits include Day Care discounts, maternity hospitalisation coverage, bereavement leave, short term sick leave that can also be used to take care of ailing dependents, life and accident insurance cover, medical insurance programs that also cover parents/in-laws, Health For Life program, interest-free salary advance for personal emergencies, and free counselling sessions for both employees and their dependents through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
