Infosys co-founders Kris Gopalakrishnan and SD Shibulal-backed venture capital fund Axilor has invested in emergency response mobile platform MUrgency.
However, investment details were not disclosed.
Based at Stanford ChangeLabs in Silicon Valley, MUrgency ensures help from the nearest doctor, nurse or paramedic in a medical emergency.
“Axilor’s confidence in our idea and product backed by proactive guidance has played an important role in our progress so far. The company will use the proceeds of the funding to develop the brand, recruit talent, augment technology and scale operations,” Shaffi Mather, Founder, MUrgency said in a statement today.
MUrgency aims to make its operations global by 2020, and will be pan-India by 2018.
“The emergency medical response system in India and the developing world is highly fragmented. MUrgency can help improve access and bring in much needed transformation in our emergency response delivery system,” Shibulal said.
Launched in tri-city area (Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula) in Punjab in February this year, MUrgency has developed a responder network of 36 hospital emergency rooms, 40+ ambulances and 350+ medical professionals.
