Hyundai Motor India Limited, country’s leading premium car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter would launch four new models within one year to boost the sales.
Unsoo Kim, Director & Division Head, Corporate Planning Division, Hyundai Motor India Limited said here today that the new models would include a mini SUV with a price range of Rs 10 lakhs to Rs 13 lakhs, all new Elantra, new Elite and Hyundai Cross. The company is targeting a double digit growth in car sales this year.
Kim who was in Chandigarh today for the launch of all- new 4S Fluidic Verna said that market was seeing revival with Indian economy gaining steam which was good for the automobile sector.
He said that Hyundai had sold 3.8 lakh units last year and about 4.1 lakh this year and was hopeful of a double digit growth after the launch of all- new 4S Fluidic Verna today and plans to launch four new models in near future. He said that the all- new 4S Fluidic Verna will set yet another benchmark in the mid high sedan segment.
The all- new 4S Fluidic Verna is a sophisticated, premium, stylish and safe World Sedan loved in the Indian car market.
The all- new 4S Fluidic Verna has established world class safety standards in the automobile industry and combines state-of-the-art technology and engineering with eternal fluidic design, the latest expression of all- new 4S is a perfect amalgamation of man, nature and machine with power and finesse.
He said that the new 4S Fluidic Verna is sold globally in over 66 countries.
Sanjay Gupta, Senior General Manager and Group Head Marketing when asked if new Verna has been positioned to take on Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz said that Verna has been a huge success with the sales going up to 5000 units per month.
He said that Hyundai had 10 per cent growth in passenger cars over previsions year even though industry was not doing well. He said that Elite i20 was the highest selling car from Hyundai.
About expansion plans, he said that at present the dealer network was 417 across the country which Hyundai plans to increase and upgrade.
About Hyundai wish list for the upcoming Budget, Sanjay Gupta said that Excise Duty should be akin to the previous year, the government should stop supporting diesel vehicles and infrastructure including roads, express highways and electricity should be a focus area.
About Punjab zone, Zonal Manager North Fateh Bahadur Singh said that the company has 75 dealers at present in Punjab zone. It company plans to open 15 new small rural sales outlets to reach out to tap rural markets.
