The country’s patent office has granted a Indian patent to German automobile major Volkswagen Group for its invention relating to a uniform communication system involving different control devices of a vehicle which in turn is said to reduce the cost of production of a motor vehicle.
The invention relates to a communication system for a motor vehicle for transmitting an information related to the operation of the motor vehicle from a transmitting control device to a receiving control device.
The patent application, jointly filed by Audi AG and Volkswagenwerk AG, in 2006 had claimed novelty for the communication system which itself is an apparatus that comprises an interface enabling the communication between the control devices in a motor vehicle.
The communication system comprises an interface for the input or output of the information relating to the operation of the motor vehicle. The communication can be established via the interface by means of a protocol which comprises an operation field for identifying a task to be carried out using the information relating to the operation of the motor vehicle.
The European car major argued that the invention achieves a technical advance of providing a more effective system for transmission of information relating to various operations in a motor vehicle.
The company said that the invention teaches a standard and uniform communication system for different control devices in the vehicle which reduces the cost of production of a motor vehicle.
