Govt may lose Rs 1.10L cr if uniform SUC is considered: Reliance Jio Infocomm

Reliance Jio Infocomm on Wednesday said it plans to raise up to Rs 2,250 crore through issuance of redeemable non-convertible debentures on a private placement basis.

Reliance Jio Infocomm on Wednesday urged the department of telecommunications (DoT) to not to consider a suggestion by the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) to introduce a uniform spectrum usage charge of 3% and phase it downwards to 1%, saying it could result in a loss of over Rs 1.10 lakh crore to the government over the next 20 years. “The suggestions of COAI is impractical and biased for the benefit of incumbent operators,” Kapoor Singh Guliani of Reliance Jio Infocomm wrote to the DoT secretary, JS Deepak.
