GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare on Monday said its fiscal third-quarter net profit grew 37% from a year earlier to R132 crore.
During the October- December period, its gross sales grew 7% from year earlier to R1100 crores, the company said in its earnings statement.
“We have been able to successfully connect and engage with our consumers via sharp insight based communication to grow consumption of Horlicks,” said Manoj Kumar, managing director, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare.
“Today our products continue to be available at affordable price points, reaching a larger consumer base across the country in both rural and urban markets.”
During the three months through December end, GSK Consumer Healthcare’s health drink portfolio, which includes the iconic Horlicks brands, “continued to be a market leader with 59.1% (Value share) and 67.3% (Volume Share),” the company said citing a third party survey published in December.
