The Big Billion Days sale of Flipkart, the annual shopping bonanza of the e-commerce major, will be held from October 2 to 6 with the promise of deep discounts on wide range of fashion brands, smartphones, electronics, televisions, home decor and appliances.
The Big Billion Days is now in its third year having started in 2014. It arrives in the backdrop of the latest guidelines issued by DIPP, barring the e-commerce majors from doling out deep discounts.
Kalyan Krishnamurthy, head – category design organization, Flipkart said, “Big Billion Days demonstrates Indian festivities in true sense. With a vision to create the best shopping experience and bring India together, we are now in our third edition of The Big Billion Days Sale. This year, our key focus is to ensure maximum value to our consumers by making quality products affordable and accessible.”
According to Flipkart, this year’s sale will have new initiatives like no cost EMI, product exchange and with the promise of quality goods. The e-commerce major faced certain challenges with delivery during the previous two edition of the sale but the company has promised that situation would be better this year.
Krishnamurthy said, “With our well-oiled backend and supply chain systems, we are fully prepared to process a billion wishes well in time through this event of the year.”
The annual shopping bonanza by e-commerce majors during the festive season provides a big push to their sales and gives an indication to the consumer interest, according to industry analysts. However, the overall market has been bit subdued during this year especially with the new government regulations barring discounts by the e-commerce players.
