Even as Amazon’s Great Indian Sale ended on Wednesday, the homegrown e-commerce major Flipkart commenced its “Freedom Sale” with special offers in attempt to attract customers. Flipkart’s sale will continue till August 12.

The three day sale includes a special ‘crazy deals’ period between 6 pm and 8 pm, which offers even higher discounts. Some of the prominent items on sale include electronics, mobiles, televisions, furniture and fashion apparel among others. HDFC credit card users will get an extra 10% discount during the sale period.

Meanwhile, several trade bodies have raised objections to the special sales launched by e-commerce majors stating that these sales are held in violation of the foreign direct investment policy announced recently by the department of industrial policy and promotion (DIPP). fe Bureau
