The firm is now operating 73 hubs in 65 cities, and can reach over 9,000 pin codes, across the nation. This allows the firm to reach out to almost 10,000 pincodes across the country.
Flipkart’s Big 10 sale has witnessed heavy demand in the large electronic appliances category from across the country. Anticipating a heavy demand the online retailer had stocked up its 10 warehouses in various cities to cater to customers’ demand. Flipkart had extended its warehouses in Ahmedabad, Chennai and Patna.
The online retailer is offering upto 40% discount on televisions, refrigerators, air conditioners and washing machines. Flipkart is also offering upto 30% discounts on mobile phones. During the Big 10 sale women and men’s apparel will be discounted by as much as 70%. The retailer is also offering upto 60% discounts on small home appliances
The sales data shows that televisions and air conditioners registered a growth of 1.5 times over normal days. Flipkart said that they have received an overwhelming response from small towns like Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, Kotdwara, Uttarakhand and Bhind, Rajasthan. Despite the higher than the average number of orders the firm has delivered 80% of the orders on the first day and 90% of the orders will be delivered on the second day of the sale.
25% of the products sold during the first two days were sold through Flipkart’s product exchange offer and 35%-40% of products were sold through No Cost EMI. Flipkart’s Big 10 Sale, which began on May 14 will end on May 18.
Flipkart’s sale comes days after its competitor Amazon concluded its Great India Sale.
