The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore (FACT) has achieved an all-time monthly record production of 21,284 tonnes of fertiliser Facamfos at its Udyogamandal complex in August, the company said today.
This is an all-time record since the inception of the plant in the 1960s.
In another milestone, the company also reached an all-time record production of 7,042 tonnes of Zincated Factamfos in the complex during the same month, it said in a release.
The Kochi division of FACT also produced 56,656 tonnes of Factamfos during August 2016, to take the total monthly production to 77,940 tonnes.
For the company, this is a record in the last seven years.
The total fertilizer production in the company during August, including 20,004 tonnes of Ammonium Sulphate, has reached 97,943 tonnes. This has helped achieve a cumulative production of 3.96 lakh tonnes of fertilisers till August.
On marketing front, the company said, sale of 74,141 tonnes of Factamfos in August marked a record in the last 15 years. Also the cumulative sale of 2.91 lakh tonnes of Factamfos up to August marked a record in the last 10 years.
The total sale of all fertilisers in August is pegged at 88,570 tonnes, to take the total sales to 3.51 lakh tonnes till now which underlines the remarkable growth of the company.
FACT said it was trying to add more colours for the Onam festival season in Kerala and farmers of South India by achieving a record production and sales of fertilizers.
