Essel Infraprojects (EIL) on Wednesday commissioned a 50-megawatt solar power project in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district under the states Solar Power Policy 2013.
The project, spanning 250 acres land at Kuhana and Shajahanpur villages in Jalaun district, is expected to generate 85 million units of power per year and would be connected to 132 KV Sarsela-Kalpi substations.
“It is a Rs 450-crore solar power project and will play a pivotal role in reducing carbon footprints by 45,000 tonnes. It will help light 25000 houses in the state,” said Ashok Agarwal, CEO and director at Essel Infraprojects, a part of Essel Group.
“Essel Group intends to facilitate India’s green energy requirement by delivering sustainable energy and creating value to empower people, communities and businesses,” he said.
