Essar Ports on Monday said it has completed work on its Salaya and Vizag terminals at an outlay of Rs 2,800 crore. The two terminals have the potential to increase overall revenues by 30% in FY19, the company said. Essar Ports reported revenues of Rs 1,016 crore in FY17. With this capex, the total cargo handling capacity of Essar Ports is 82 MTPA. Further, an iron-ore berth with capacity of 8 MTPA and a general cargo terminal of 20 MTPA are under construction at Vizag and Hazira, respectively. These are expected to be completed in two-three years, taking the company’s total cargo handling capacity to 110 MTPA. The bulk terminal in Salaya is the first deep-draft facility for shipment of dry bulk cargo in the Saurashtra region.
