An Iraq military plane accidentally dropped a bomb on a residential area in Baghdad due to 'technical problem', killing at least eight people.

An Iraq military plane accidentally dropped a bomb on a residential area in Baghdad due to “technical problem”, killing at least eight people.

According to BBC, Iraqi forces said that the jet was returning from a bombing raid against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

The bombing destroyed several houses, with at three least children also said to be among the dead.

Iraqi forces, backed by US-led coalition airstrikes, have been battling against the ISIS that has taken over large swathes of Iraq.
