India Post, on Friday, released ‘My Stamp’ to mark the third anniversary of e-commerce major Amazon’s presence in India.
Releasing the stamp Usha Chandrashekar, chief post master general, Bangalore, Karnataka Circle said, “This is the first time that the department of post has released ‘My Stamp’ to commemorate a milestone with an e-commerce marketplace. The launch reinforces Amazon and India Post relationship.”
India Post is one of the prime carriers that Amazon India uses as a delivery channel. Using the extensive network of India Post, Amazon.in services customers in over 19,000 pin-codes through 155,000 post-offices which includes a majority of outlets in rural areas across all 35 states and Union territories in India. Amit Agarwal, vice president and country manager, Amazon India said, “We are very excited and humbled that India Post has released the Amazon India ‘My Stamp’, commemorating our deep partnership.
India Post has been a valuable partner to us and we look forward to our continued association as we endeavor to transform the way India buys and sells.”
Incidentally, the Karnataka circle of India Post was awarded the first position for generating the highest revenue of Rs 206.28 crore under the Speed Post services for 2014–15 in the country. In 2015-16, the Circle earned a revenue of Rs 269 crore.
