A day after issuing a stern warning to the web-app based taxi aggregators, the Delhi government on Wednesday rejected the US-based cab aggregator Uber’s fresh application for registration. On the same lines, the transport department of Delhi government also rejected applications from two other prominent taxi operators, Ola Cabs and Taxi4Sure.
According to the transport department, all three operators’ applications were rejected due to the failure to declare that they were complying with the conditions imposed on their services last year. The taxi operators had applied for fresh licences in late January this year.
Ola and TaxiForSure did not respond to FE’s mails at the time of going to press. Web-app based cab operators were banned after the rape of a private executive aboard Uber cab in November, 2014.
