Cyclone Vardah: TCS, Infosys shut operations in Tamil Nadu

As per the latest inputs, Cyclone Vardah has commenced landfall in the city and will continue for at least 2 hours. The cyclone hit the city with a wind speed of around 100-110 km/hour. Chennai recorded maximum wind speed of 192 Km/hour.

In wake of Cyclone Vardah, IT majors Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services have shut their operations in Tamil Nadu. The Cyclone made a landfall between Sriharikota and Chennai on Monday. “It is very likely to cross north Tamil Nadu and south Andhra Pradesh coasts, close to Chennai as a cyclonic storm with a wind speed of 80 to 90 kmph gusting to 100 kmph by 12th December 2016 afternoon,” officials said.
