The National Herald, the defunct mouthpiece of Congress, will soon be re-launched along with two other newspapers, eight years after they ceased publication.

“The Associated Journals Limited (AJL) had decided in January to re-launch its newspapers, the National Herald, Quami Awaj and Navjivan. The process for implementation is on”, AICC Treasurer Motilal Vora said.

To another question, he did not specify whether the National Herald in English, Navjivan in Hindi and Qaumi Awaz in Urdu, would be brought out in print editions as they were or restart as an online-only platform.
In the Lucknow meeting, the Associated Journals Limited (AJL) had decided to convert into a not-for-profit company and re-launch its newspapers.
The decision had come in the midst of a legal battle over its past, which has ensnared Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul.
AJL was founded by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in November 1937. The company and the newspapers it published, namely the National Herald, Quami Awaj and Navjivan, played an important role as the voice of freedom movement and functioned historically in the public interest and for social good.
